Take a minute to submit a comment opposing Trump’s attack on OPT!
Trump’s Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) is trying to increase fees to $100,000 for international students and scholars using Optional Practical Training (OPT). OPT allows F-1 international scholars to continue working in a similar field for up to three years. This discriminatory fee would reduce work opportunities for international researchers in the US and would negatively affect US higher education and research.
DHS is currently accepting comments until November 9 on the proposed rule. Click here to join fellow postdocs across the country in submitting a comment. There’s a pre-written comment that you can modify as you wish with individual details. A massive response will help send a message about our opposition to this new fee.
