Thank you for joining hundreds of your colleagues in signing an authorization card in support of forming a Postdoc union at NYU. We are really excited to announce that a majority of Postdocs at NYU have signed authorization cards!
Reaching majority support is an important milestone. Once a strong majority of postdocs have signed authorization cards, we can move forward towards seeking recognition through an election. It will be critical to have a strong majority yes vote in order to build momentum for winning a strong contract, and your involvement at this stage is vital towards that goal.
We will be having a town hall on Monday, December 8th at 6pm if you would like to meet fellow postdocs from across campus, get answers to any questions, and learn more ways to get more involved in our campaign – RSVP here!
In the meantime, please talk to your coworkers who may not have heard about our unionization efforts yet and encourage them to sign a card. The more people who sign a card, the stronger our union will be during these important next steps.
We look forward to joining the tens of thousands of researchers and other academic workers who have made significant improvements to their working conditions as part of the United Auto Workers (UAW), including postdoctoral colleagues at major research institutions like University of California, UPenn, and Johns Hopkins.
