We are thrilled to announce exciting news. After over 70% of postdocs signed up in support of forming a union, and after reaching an election agreement with NYU, dates for our union election have been scheduled! Click here to read more why postdocs from departments across campus are voting ‘yes’.
Our union election will be held on Wednesday, September 30th and Thursday, October 1st from 9AM-7PM. There will be two voting locations, one at the main Washington Square campus, and one in Brooklyn at Tandon (specific room locations will be announced in the near future).
As postdocs, we will have a historic opportunity. When a majority votes “YES” for our union, NYU will have a legal obligation to negotiate with postdocs as equals over our pay, benefits, and workplace rights. The more of us who participate in this important decision and vote “YES”, the more effectively we will be able to negotiate for improvements with the NYU administration.

We encourage all postdocs to attend these town halls to get an update and answers to any questions you may have regarding our election, hear from unionized postdocs at other institutions, and engage in meaningful discussions with colleagues.
